Redwood City-based Genomic Health Inc. has signed a national contract with Aetna for Oncotype DX, the company’s test service that quantifies the likelihood of breast cancer recurrence and predicts the likelihood of chemotherapy benefit for a large portion of early-stage breast cancer patients. Aetna is one of the nation’s largest health benefits companies, with more than 15 million medical members. With the signing of the agreement with Aetna, the company has established health plan contracts for Oncotype DX covering an estimated 80 million lives.
