Bank of America Donates $1M to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles

Childrens Hospital Los Angeles announced a $1 million donation from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation supporting a family lounge in the new hospital building now under construction. Leticia Aguilar, Los Angeles president and West region executive for the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, presented the check to Richard Cordova, president and CEO of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, and Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti.

“We are enormously grateful to the Bank of America Charitable Foundation for its support over the years, and particularly for its latest expression of its generosity for our new hospital building to benefit the children and families of Los Angeles — and beyond — for decades to come,” Mr. Cordova said, adding that the new hospital building will open in 2010.

“We at Bank of America are very pleased to provide this grant to a landmark health care institution and anchor for the Los Angeles community,” said Ms. Aguilar. “Investing in anchor institutions like Childrens Hospital Los Angeles helps our neighborhoods and strengthens the communities in which we all live and work. It’s an honor to know we will be able to assist children in their treatment and healing process for years to come.”
